Imaging Assistant PRN

About the role

As an Imaging Assistant at Portsmouth Regional Hospital (part of HCA Healthcare), you will support technologists across all imaging modalities (X‑ray, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology) in a 240‑bed acute care facility serving NH, ME, and MA. The hospital is an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with a robust heart and vascular program.

Responsibilities

• Prep and screen patients prior to imaging exams/procedures.
• Assist technologists in verifying patient identity, mobility, and positioning.
• Escort patients, families, and friends to correct imaging locations.
• Facilitate communication between Imaging Services and medical staff or other hospital departments.
• Ensure quality care by adhering to policies, procedures, and standards.
• Provide clerical services for the department.
• Proactively address patient satisfaction issues related to delays.
• Review written orders and accurately transcribe them into the electronic medical record, entering appropriate history.

Requirements

• Excellent organization and time‑management skills.
• Hospital experience is a plus.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
