Responsibilities
- Transports Patient
- Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
- Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent).
- Educate patients about the procedure and address questions.
- Communicate readiness to remote technologist.
- Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan.
- Initiate BLS protocols if required.
- Escalate to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol.
- Position the patient correctly on the scanner table.
- Prepare positioning aids.
- Loads contrast injector.
- Place and manage IV lines.
- Administer contrast or medications under direct supervision.
- Maintain supplies.
- Support technologists as needed.
- Monitor telemetry patients during exam.
- Complete Exam Data Entry.
Qualifications
- Paramedic - High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program.
- LPN - High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program.
- 2nd Year Rad Tech Student - High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN Required.
- Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation Required.
- BLS certification Required.
- EMT Certification Required.
- LPN license Required.
- 2nd year Rad Tech Required.
