Imaging Assistant III - Radiology CT

Responsibilities

• Transports Patient
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
• Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent).
• Educate patients about the procedure and address questions.
• Communicate readiness to remote technologist.
• Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan.
• Initiate BLS protocols if required.
• Escalate to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol.
• Position the patient correctly on the scanner table.
• Prepare positioning aids.
• Loads contrast injector.
• Place and manage IV lines.
• Administer contrast or medications under direct supervision.
• Maintain supplies.
• Support technologists as needed.
• Monitor telemetry patients during exam.
• Complete Exam Data Entry.

Qualifications

• Paramedic - High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program.
• LPN - High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program.
• 2nd Year Rad Tech Student - High school diploma or GED.
• Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN Required.
• Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation Required.
• BLS certification Required.
• EMT Certification Required.
• LPN license Required.
• 2nd year Rad Tech Required.
