Schedule

  • 3x12 (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday)

Responsibilities

This position provides advanced technical, clinical, and clerical support within the Imaging department. Responsibilities include managing patient flow, conducting patient screening, assisting patients during procedures, maintaining supplies, and supporting technologists as needed. This role also includes remote cardiac monitoring for patients undergoing MRI when they are off nursing units.

What you will do

  • Patient Interaction & Prep
    • Transports Patient
    • Verify patient identity using two identifiers
    • Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent)
    • Educate patients about the procedure and address questions
    • Communicate readiness to remote technologist
    • Monitor telemetry patients during exam
  • Physical Setup
    • Position the patient correctly on the scanner table
    • Prepare positioning aids
    • Load contrast injector
  • Contrast Administration
    • Place and manage IV lines
    • Administer contrast or medications under direct supervision
    • Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response if needed
  • Emergency Readiness
    • Initiate BLS protocols if required
    • Escalate to on-site technologists, physician, or EMS per facility protocol
  • Communication
    • Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan
  • Complete Exam Data Entry

Qualifications

Education

  • Paramedic - High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program. Required
  • LPN - High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program. Required
  • 2nd Year Rad Tech - High school diploma or GED. Required

Work Experience

  • Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN. Preferred
  • Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation. Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • Paramedic Certification. Required
  • LPN license. Required
  • 2nd year Rad Tech. Required
  • BLS certification. Required
