Imaging Assistant

About the Role

The Advanced Imaging Assistant supports and assists the Technologist as needed, following established policies and procedures within the Imaging environment. Responsible for performing a wide range of duties assigned by the Imaging department, with a focus on patient and family-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care, including changing patients and reviewing patient safety questionnaires.
• Assist the modality Technologist in setting up scan rooms, placing patients on the table, and attaching necessary coils and/or head holders.
• Assist with starting IVs for patients receiving contrast injections.
• Assist in emergency situations such as contrast reactions and CPR.
• Verify patient lab values, document patient exam information, and create CDs for patients.
• Participate in patient final verification.
• Assist with supply ordering, stocking, and monitoring for expired products.
• Manage linen supply, stock blanket warmers, and dispose of soiled linen and carts.
• Clean scan rooms and holding rooms between patients.
• Assist with the transportation of patients to and from the scan room.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant experience.
• 2 years of patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC (required upon hire).
