ILST/Independent Living Skills Trainer

What You'll Do

  • Teach daily living skills such as cooking, budgeting, shopping, job readiness, and using public transportation.
  • Coach clients in problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Monitor progress and document client achievements.
  • Support clients in meeting health, safety, and personal goals.
  • Connect individuals with community resources that promote independence and success.
  • Encourage confidence, self-advocacy, and personal growth every step of the way.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma (or equivalent) plus at least two (2) years of verifiable experience working with individuals with brain injuries, or;
  • A bachelor's degree plus at least one (1) year of verifiable brain injury-related experience.
  • To be considered, applicants must also have:
  • Reliable transportation.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • At least three (3) years of a safe driving record.
  • Proof of automobile insurance.
  • Flexibility to travel to client locations.
  • Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Person-Centered certifications (or the ability to obtain them, if applicable).
