(IL Pipeline) Field Service Technician
Position Overview
The contractor will initially work the standard schedule of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. After completing required training, the contractor may be assigned to one of the following shifts based on business and team needs:
- Sunday – Wednesday: Three 11-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift (Front Half Days and Nights)
- Wednesday – Saturday: Three 11-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift (Back Half Days and Nights)
Note: These rotations include both day and night shifts.
Role Description
Represents the organization to customers by providing information, responding to inquiries, and troubleshooting product-related issues. Provides technical support and maintenance services while ensuring customer satisfaction. This is a Level I entry-level position focused on learning company policies, procedures, and technical processes. Work is routine in nature and performed under close supervision with guidance from management.
Responsibilities
- Performing routine equipment maintenance.
- Assisting with equipment installations.
- Troubleshooting and resolving basic technical issues.
- Escalating unresolved issues according to standard procedures.
- Ensuring high levels of efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Report product failure trends and serviceability issues to management with appropriate documentation.
- Provide efficient, responsive, and accurate field/shop/on-site maintenance support.
- Maintain accurate technical records, Field Service Reports (FSRs), expense reports, and assigned company property.
- Deliver excellent customer communication and support.
- Maintain assigned equipment performance standards.
- Support branch and district performance goals by achieving established service metrics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
- Less than one year of related experience required.
- Basic understanding of internet environments required.
- Successful completion of 120-day introductory period and PDIF New Hire Training Class.
- Must be willing to travel as required.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
- Must complete required security clearances and customer access requirements.
- Must be able to work in a 24x7 operational environment (PPS Only).
- Must be available for shift work and on-call rotations.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires mobile activity more than 50% of the time, including:
- Walking
- Standing
- Stooping
- Kneeling
- Bending
- Handling equipment

Pay
$18 to $22/hour
Schedule
Long-term contract. Initial schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. After training, shifts may include 11-hour and 8-hour rotations on days or nights, including weekends.
