IEEE Boston Section Elections: A New Cycle Begins

The IEEE Boston Section Elections are open. IEEE Boston connects local members across all IEEE societies through awards, social events, leadership opportunities, and courses. We are looking for volunteers to help expand our programs.

Available Positions

This year, the following officer roles are open for election:

• Secretary
• Treasurer

Volunteers typically begin as secretary or treasurer, then progress to vice-chair and chair in subsequent years to ensure continuity of programs and policies.

Eligibility Requirements

• IEEE full member in good standing (not a student or graduate student member)
• Reside in the Boston geographical area
• Previous experience as an officer within any IEEE section, society, or affinity group

Nomination Process

• Call for Nominations: July 27, 2026
• Nominations Deadline: August 22, 2026
• First Slate of Candidates Published: August 24, 2026
• Petition Deadline: September 24, 2026 (requires 2% of eligible Boston voting members to support)
• Election Period: October 9 – November 9, 2026
