About the role

We are seeking a dedicated automation engineer to join our growing IT team. This role will be the first of its kind, responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end automation solutions across our HRIS, IdP, and core applications.

Responsibilities

  • Build the user lifecycle from scratch, integrating our HRIS, IdP, and core apps (D365, BambooHR, Expensify, Google Workspace, JumpCloud) over REST APIs.
  • Write real code in Python to bridge, sync, and automate processes between these systems.
  • Own the automation roadmap, collaborating with the Global IT Manager to prioritize and implement new automation initiatives.
  • Develop self-service workflows to streamline common IT needs within the organization.
  • Manage and maintain our identity and device stack using JumpCloud, ensuring security and access controls are enforced.
  • Utilize modern AI-assisted tools to enhance development speed and efficiency.
  • Document and harden all systems and workflows to ensure long-term sustainability.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT systems or operations engineering, or a related builder role.
  • Hands-on API integration experience in Python, including connecting systems that don't come with pre-built integrations.
  • Experience with user provisioning/deprovisioning between an HRIS and an IdP.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL queries for automation, reporting, and system integrations.
  • Experience with Git for version control, code reviews, and change management.
  • Strong coding skills, including debugging and configuring systems for self-service tooling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting and explaining automated systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of IdP protocols such as SAML, SCIM, LDAP, and RADIUS.
  • Experience managing a global identity stack across different regions.
  • Exposure to IT governance or data privacy frameworks like ISO 27001 and GDPR.

Skills

  • Python programming skills.
