About the role
The Assistant Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the store, supporting the Manager and associates in various aspects such as sales, food service, inventory, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Review, oversee, assign, and follow up on daily work lists/tasks of Associates
- Supervise the sale of all retail goods and services including money drop procedures
- Oversee all food service areas and preparation in accordance with food standards
- Review, update, and correct retail pricing on all retail items
- Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers
- Aid in recruiting, hiring, training, managing, and supervising Associates in the Manager's absence
- Aid in planning and preparing work schedules and coordinating daily assignments and activities of associates
- Perform open and close processes as needed
- Oversee cash register operations, performing drawer closings, and managing lottery processes
- Receive, verify, and process merchandise and vendor shipments
- Order merchandise to maintain proper inventory levels of product
- Oversee and/or stock, and display merchandise and supplies
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Combined with sufficient on-the-job experience to know the processes and variables to accurately manage a convenience store/retail store
- Minimum of 3 years retail/store experience preferred
- Proficient in computer usage including POS systems and the Internet
