IDD Residential Director

This position requires shared responsibility for 24/7 comprehensive oversight of 30 Individual Residential Alternatives (IRAs) and a $30 million budget.
This role involves implementing and overseeing diverse community integration and support services for people with varying degrees of developmental disabilities, complex medical needs, and co-occurring disorders. You will ensure a highly trained team of front-line supervisors and direct support professionals meets the support and service needs of individuals. The IDD Residential Director partners with an interdisciplinary team, including individuals supported, families, front-line supervisors, behavior clinicians, nurses, care coordinators, counselors, therapists, and others as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Promotes person-centered practice and respect for each individual’s life choices and individuality, facilitating quality outcomes for the people supported and the community.
- Leads the development of skills and attainment of knowledge to facilitate quality service delivery, developing a strong, dynamic, customer-satisfaction-focused, and innovative workforce.
- Participates in designing and implementing a comprehensive Direct Support Professional (DSP) Training Curriculum that creates a culture of support and partnership with individuals and families.
- Trains, implements, and ensures adherence to Core Competencies and Council on Quality Leadership (CQL) guiding principles.
- Participates in the Corporate Planning process and is committed to delivering organizational Key Performance Indicators.
- Ensures compliance and quality in service delivery that meets or exceeds federal, state, and professional standards.
- Maintains all licenses and certifications required for the operation of IDD residential services and training certifications.
- Partners with Quality Assurance on utilization review and utilization management for IDD Residential Services to ensure level-of-care criteria are met and service delivery is appropriate for the needs of recipients and requirements of all payers.
- Partners with senior leadership and finance on the development, implementation, and management of multiple cost centers to maximize revenue and control expenses, ensuring fiscal viability.
- Provides on-call coverage as assigned.
- Fulfills duties as assigned by senior and executive leadership.
- Supervises DSP Supervisors directly and DSPs and interdisciplinary teams indirectly as appropriate.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
- Proficient in organizing and managing competing priorities and organizational Key Performance Indicators.
- Deep knowledge of OPWDD and OFPC regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage risk while maintaining accountability to the Director.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, electronic health records, and virtual communication platforms.
- Must maintain current license/certification/training.
- Valid driver’s license, work eligibility status, and an excellent driving record.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation, or a related field with a minimum of five years of related and progressively responsible leadership and supervisory experience in a similar industry or field. Experience supporting individuals with Autism and complex behavioral challenges and familiarity with ABA and PECS.
OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Pay
$72,000 annually
Schedule
40 hours per week, flexible. This position also requires travel to other work sites.
