Salary: $2,581.00 - $3,226.00 monthly ($30,972.00 - $38,712.00 annually)

Job Type: Full-Time

A Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) screening and criminal background check will be conducted prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school.
• Completed a background check in a manner approved by the appointing authority.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds with or without assistance.

About the Role

Under immediate supervision, this classification is responsible for performing direct care work of routine difficulty for intellectually and developmentally disabled (IDD) individuals in a community home. This is the working level in the IDD direct care series.

Responsibilities

• Implement Person Centered Support Plans as written by the person served and their support system, including personal hygiene, active treatment inside and outside of the home, and other person-focused care.
• Maintain personal property of people supported, including assessing the condition of the property and helping persons make decisions on what they want to do with their property when they no longer need or want it.
• Utilize custom positioning equipment as outlined in person-centered support plans.
• Maintain ICF/IID and/or residential home in a safe manner by cleaning routinely, checking equipment and furniture for proper working order, and keeping exits free from blockage for safe evacuations.
• Plan for emergencies to ensure the safety of persons supported and practice safety drills routinely.
• Ensure supplies are adequately stocked to support people served.
• Complete assigned training within stated timelines.
• Utilize standard appliances and equipment such as microwave, range with oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer, bathing equipment, and mechanical lifts.
