Part-time position located in Arlington, TN (Shelby County). This role requires a criminal background check and a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) screening prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school.
• Completed a background check in a manner approved by the appointing authority.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift 50 pounds with or without assistance.

About the Role

Under immediate supervision, this classification performs direct care work of routine difficulty for intellectually and developmentally disabled (IDD) individuals in a community home setting. This is the working level in the IDD direct care series.

Responsibilities

• Implements Person Centered Support Plans as written by the person served and their support system, including personal hygiene, active treatment inside and outside of the home, and other person-focused care.
• Maintains personal property of people supported, assessing condition and assisting with decisions regarding property disposition.
• Utilizes custom positioning equipment as outlined in person-centered support plans.
• Maintains ICF/IID and/or residential home in a safe manner by cleaning routinely, checking equipment and furniture, and ensuring exits are unobstructed for safe evacuations.
• Plans for emergencies and practices safety drills to ensure the safety of persons supported.
• Ensures supplies are adequately stocked to support people served.
• Completes assigned training within stated timelines.
• Utilizes standard appliances and equipment such as microwave, range with oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer, bathing equipment, and mechanical lifts.

$16.46 per hour.
