Night shift, Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM – 4:30 AM. Location: Sidney, OH.

DRT Aerospace is seeking an experienced ID/OD Grinder / Surface Grinder to join our growing manufacturing team in Sidney, Ohio. In this role, you'll set up and operate precision grinding equipment to manufacture mission-critical aerospace and industrial components while maintaining tight tolerances and exceptional quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate ID, OD, and surface grinding machines
• Grind components to precise dimensional and surface finish requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
• Select and install grinding wheels, tooling, fixtures, and work-holding devices
• Perform machine adjustments to maintain product quality and process efficiency
• Complete in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Verify compliance with blueprint dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T requirements
• Troubleshoot machining and quality issues
• Maintain production, inspection, and quality documentation
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to support production goals
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience operating ID/OD and/or surface grinding equipment
• Experience machining tight-tolerance precision components
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Strong understanding of grinding processes and machining fundamentals
• Proficient with precision measuring tools including: micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, height gauges
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred qualifications

• Aerospace manufacturing experience
• Experience with cylindrical grinders, centerless grinders, or CNC grinding equipment
• Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards
• Ability to perform complex machine setups independently
• Experience manufacturing aerospace, defense, medical, or other precision-machined components
