About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

As an Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technician, you will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in developing innovative ways to automate and scale our network. This role requires technical aptitude, strong communication skills, analytical problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Move and implement large enterprise equipment
  • Install fiber and copper cabling and patch cabling between equipment
  • Maintain proper safety and security standards during cabling and rack installation
  • Follow established hardware installation procedures and break-fix activities
  • Safely use material handling tools and equipment
  • Travel within and outside of the regional work area using a reliable personal vehicle (company transportation not provided)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in technical or vocational roles such as computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations, or technical project management
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds regularly; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
  • Willingness to work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments, including bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment, including participation in primary responder rotation and after-hours support
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for regional travel
  • Work authorization without employer intervention (Amazon cannot provide sponsorship for these positions)

For positions in Oregon (OR) and Ohio (OH): Logical access to the AWS GovCloud region is restricted to U.S. citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry-standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)
  • Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
  • Experience with medium to large, complex project scopes in ambiguous environments
  • Knowledge of major command-line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common networking protocols (BGP, OSPF)

  • Arizona (Mesa): $27.98 – $48.99 USD hourly
  • Indiana (New Carlisle): $27.98 – $48.99 USD hourly
  • Mississippi (Canton/Vicksburg): $25.19 – $44.08 USD hourly
  • Ohio (Dublin/Plain City): $27.98 – $48.99 USD hourly
  • Oregon (Hermiston/Umatilla): $27.00 – $48.99 USD hourly
  • Pennsylvania (Berwick): $27.98 – $48.99 USD hourly
  • Texas (Garland): $27.98 – $48.99 USD hourly
  • Virginia (Ashburn/Manassas/Sterling): $27.00 – $48.99 USD hourly
