About the role
We're looking for a dedicated ICU Tech to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our clinical team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Responds to patient/family requests (tells patient/family what to expect, when and why; informs patient/family when problems arise)
- Makes sure to monitor telemetry and report any changes in EKG rhythms to the Telemetry Unit and/or ICCU Registered Nurse immediately
- Documents rhythm strips accurately
- Collects physical, social, and emotional data on patients; documents and communicates pertinent information to appropriate members of the health care team
- Uses clinical equipment accurately and correctly when needed to perform basic patient care
- Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique
- Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and development to provide age-specific treatment and care
- Initiates appropriate intervention immediately in a crisis/emergent situation
- Performs basic computer functions including but not limited to entering patient information and providers orders timely and accurately
- Demonstrates computer literacy through accurate scheduling of tests, consults, and treatments
- Accurately completes all forms and records for patient care procedures
- Maintains a tracking system of each patient receiving and disseminating all incoming and outgoing communications for the department
- Maintains an appropriate inventory of supplies
- Sets up and maintains stock rooms, specialty carts, code carts, IV trays and cabinets
- Delivers compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence
- Performs clinical responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
- Uses hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations
- Continuously seeks opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction
- Serves as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community
Requirements
- High school graduate/GED
- At least one year of clinical hands-on experience preferred
- EKG course with demonstrated competency required once hired
- Must obtain BLS certification within one year of the date of hire
