About the Role
Mission Community Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Night Shift team. The ICU RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered care to critically ill patients while collaborating closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, team-oriented, adaptable in fast-paced environments, and committed to providing exceptional care and support to patients and families. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Monitor and interpret patient conditions, vital signs, and cardiac rhythms
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case management, and interdisciplinary teams
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations and patient changes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols
- Support a positive and collaborative work environment
Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Excellent teamwork and patient care skills
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of one year of ICU experience
