ICU Registered Nurse to support PACU Nights

Job Summary

The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking exceptional Registered Nurses (RNs) for a full-time night shift position in the General (Main) Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).

About the Role

Join a world-renowned, Magnet-designated (three times consecutively) academic medical center in downtown Baltimore. The PACU provides 24/7 specialized peri-anesthesia care to patients across all ages and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Vigilant pre and post-operative care for inpatients and outpatients undergoing surgery
• Titration of vasopressors, airway management, care of ventilated patients, blood product administration, and fluid resuscitation
• Apply critical care concepts to dynamic patient care experiences

Requirements

• Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Maryland or eligible to practice under a compact license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, Associates Nurses with at least 2+ years of experience
• American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification required upon hire, PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to handle complex patient scenarios
• At least 1-2 years of preferred experience in ICU settings such as Surgical, Medical, and Neuro in an inpatient facility
• Minimum 1 year ICU experience required, Surgical/trauma ICU preferred
