About the role

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization serving nearly 30,000 people across rural, southwest Alaska. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers—the Kuskokwim and Yukon.

Responsibilities

• Operating CHSB Retail Store including YKHC Gift/Coffee Shop and Injury Prevention Sales Shop
• Opening and closing retail store each day
• Preparing and serving food and beverages
• Aiding customers with purchasing decisions
• Demonstrating correct use of merchandise
• Accurately handling cash
• Conducting inventory
• Maintaining a clean and orderly environment
• Building customer relations
• Communicating with the ICEMS Retail Store Manager and other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Some High School or equivalent
• Prior experience in food service or retail operations
• Valid Alaska Driver's License, or able to acquire one within one year
• An understanding of coffee shop equipment, credit card merchant machine, cash register and calculator
• Strong math, communication and customer skills
