Ice Haus Coach-Figure Skating
Anticipated hiring range: $16.50 – $20.21 hourly. Full salary range for the position: $16.50 – $23.93 hourly. Actual offer will be based on your relevant experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
About the role
The Ice Haus Coach – Figure Skating is an integral part of the recreation division with the City of Greeley and is responsible for providing high-quality instruction, training, and mentorship to athletes in skating and/or hockey programs. This role emphasizes skill development, safety, sportsmanship, and fostering a positive environment for participants of all ages and skill levels. The coach plays a key role in program success, athlete progress, and community engagement.

Requirements
- Must have passed Preliminary figure skating levels both in Moves In the Field and Free-skate.
- Must have coaching insurance through Learn to Skate USA, USFSA, or PSA.
- Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job may also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification through a recognized governing body (e.g., USA Hockey, US Figure Skating).

Responsibilities
- Instructs, tests, and evaluates participants in the skating lesson program.
- Plans and prepares in advance to foster skill development in each participant.
- Provides ongoing corrective feedback to participants and relays progress to parents/guardians.
- Maintains order and discipline in classes to ensure a safe and learning atmosphere.
- Enforces all facility rules, safety, and policies.
- Ensures proper use of City equipment, such as rental skates and gear.
- Demonstrates professionalism in all forms of communication (in-person, email, phone, video, text).
- Enforces facility regulations, policies, and procedures; positively represents the City in interactions.
- Resolves program issues within established guidelines.
- Relays various inquiries to supervisors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekdays, nights, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Work Environment
- Frequent and heavy contact with the public and City employees in person and by telephone.
- Frequent interruptions.
- Work performed in cold indoor settings, primarily on the ice surface.
- Regular exposure to loud noises.
- Work involves skating, walking, standing, stretching, bending, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
