The successful candidate should be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the standards related to the construction and inspection of reinforced concrete and masonry structures. The candidate must be able to read and understand structural blueprints and current code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that concrete construction is installed according to plans and specifications.
• Review plans and specifications.
• Inspect concrete construction during preplacement, placement, and post-placement.
• Collect material samples and perform tests.
• Write and submit reports to the building official, contractor, and/or registered design professional.
• Maintain proper and complete files of field and laboratory data, reports, letters, RFIs, and other pertinent field data.
• Communicate clearly with the Project Manager and the client's representatives.

Requirements

• Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience coordinating/inspecting concrete, masonry, post tension, steel, and welding for construction projects.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and inspectors across disciplines.
• ICC certification for concrete, masonry, post tension, steel & welding, including S1 and S2.
• Experience reading plans and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Understanding of construction safety, quality control, and general contract management.

Pay

Hourly rate for this position is $66.96/hour. The starting rate will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

• Construction sites and/or client right-of-way (R.O.W).
• Client testing facility (occasionally).
• Corporate office (occasionally).
• May require extensive driving to reach job sites and/or client/E2 offices.
• Frequent ascending and descending of ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms in and out of pipeline bell-hole/trench/excavation.
• Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
• Lifting objects in excess of 50 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
• Ability to perform visual inspection of construction crew quality of work, using measuring devices, and/or assembly of fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
• Able to perform in both inside and outside environmental conditions in all four seasons throughout the continental United States – extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit) and/or extreme heat (temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit) for periods of more than one hour.

Travel

May require extensive driving to reach job sites and/or client/E2 offices.
