ICBM Physical Security Systems Engineer
About the role
The Opportunity: Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills with big picture thinking to make an impact in Nuclear Weapon System Safety? Our team analyzes and evaluates Air Force nuclear weapon system designs to support nuclear safety and certification. You’ll leverage your expertise in designing robust physical security systems to protect high-value facilities and assets and apply scientific and engineering principles, criteria, and techniques to identify and assess weapon system security and inform nuclear design certification of these systems.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to an interdisciplinary group of government client and contractor staff while evaluating the comprehensive nuclear safety of the client's mission.
- Develop contract deliverables, including Technical Nuclear Safety Analyses (TNSA), Independent Nuclear Safety Evaluations (INSE), and technical research papers.
- Analyze design data, develop written deliverables, and assist with presenting results and reviews of weapon system safety artifacts to verify compliance with applicable government requirements.
- Conduct these tasks following established plans and quality standards, with the freedom to improve processes and advance the discipline of nuclear weapon safety.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience designing physical security controls for high-security facilities
- 2+ years of experience evaluating, validating, or verifying system requirements
- Experience analyzing engineering data, including specifications, models, and drawings
- Ability to communicate advanced concepts in engineering clearly and translate to non-technical individuals
Qualifications
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
Skills
- Experience performing system safety analyses, including hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, probabilistic risk assessment, failure mode effects, and criticality analysis
- Experience with requirements traceability
- Experience in a DoD acquisition environment
- Knowledge of DAFMANs 91-118 and 91-119 and DAFIs 91-101 and 63-125
- Knowledge of DoD or Air Force ICBM or nuclear weapon security policies

Pay
Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
