IBM MAS 9 Solutions Architect
POSITION SUMMARY
The IBM MAS 9 Solutions Architect serves as a trusted advisor to clients and a subject matter expert (SME) for pre-sales and new business strategy, providing strategic leadership, technical expertise, and solution architecture for IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS 9) implementations. This role partners with executive stakeholders, project teams, sales teams, and technical resources to design, implement, modernize, optimize, and support enterprise asset management solutions, while shaping the technical strategy and solution positioning behind new business pursuits. Engagements are performed remotely on an on-demand, as-needed basis for clients across multiple industries, with some travel required to support pre-sales engagements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the SME for pre-sales, leading demonstrations, proposals, and solution estimation for new business opportunities.
- Lead solution architecture for IBM MAS 9 implementations.
- Assess client requirements and design scalable enterprise solutions.
- Provide executive-level consulting and trusted advisory services.
- Lead discovery workshops, architecture reviews, and roadmap sessions.
- Guide integrations, cloud migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
- Support implementation teams with technical leadership and best practices.
- Partner with sales and business development teams to shape win strategies, solution positioning, and technical narratives for new business pursuits.
- Mentor consultants and promote IBM MAS best practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of IBM Maximo / EAM experience.
- Deep expertise with IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS 9).
- Experience leading enterprise implementations and upgrades.
- Strong client-facing consulting and presentation skills.
- Experience with integrations, APIs, cloud platforms, and solution architecture.
- Proven experience acting as an SME in pre-sales settings, including scoping, estimation, and technical storytelling to win new business.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support pre-sales engagements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- IBM certifications.
- Migration experience from Maximo 7.6 to MAS.
- Public sector or utilities experience.
- Experience supporting business development and new business strategy, including RFP/proposal response and competitive positioning.
