Responsibilities

• Teach IB Biology curriculum, covering cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, ecology, evolution and biodiversity, human physiology, and higher-level topics (e.g., nucleic acids, metabolism, plant and animal physiology).
• Explain complex topics such as genetic modification, climate change biology, and internal assessment requirements.
• Prepare students for IB Biology SL and HL examinations.
• Guide students in experimental design, data analysis, and biological systems analysis.
• Help students interpret data-based questions, draw and label biological diagrams, analyze genetics problems, and construct evidence-based arguments.
• Connect biological concepts to the Theory of Knowledge and develop skills for the Internal Assessment experimental investigation.
• Adapt instruction using past IB examination papers, mark scheme analysis, and IA guidance to support students at both Standard and Higher Levels.
• Identify and address common student challenges, such as managing content breadth, meeting IA requirements, and answering extended-response questions.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of the IB Biology curriculum and ability to teach both SL and HL levels.
• Skilled at conceptual teaching and problem-solving, with a focus on experimental design and data analysis.
• Familiarity with the IB Biology syllabus and common student challenges.
• Ability to adapt instruction to individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
