Responsibilities

• Teach IB Biology curriculum, including cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, ecology, evolution and biodiversity, human physiology, and higher-level topics such as nucleic acids, metabolism, plant biology, and animal physiology.
• Explain complex topics like genetic modification, climate change biology, and internal assessment requirements while preparing students for IB Biology SL and HL examinations.
• Guide students through experimental design, data analysis, and biological systems analysis.
• Help students interpret data-based questions, draw and label biological diagrams, analyze genetics problems, and construct evidence-based arguments.
• Connect biological concepts to the Theory of Knowledge and develop skills for the Internal Assessment experimental investigation.
• Adapt instruction using past IB examination papers, mark scheme analysis, and IA guidance to support students at both Standard and Higher Levels.
• Identify and address common student challenges, such as managing content breadth, meeting IA requirements, and answering extended-response questions.
• Use multiple teaching approaches to explain material and adapt to individual learning needs and styles.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of the IB Biology curriculum for both Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL).
• Ability to teach experimental design, data analysis, and biological systems analysis.
• Familiarity with past IB examination papers, mark schemes, and Internal Assessment requirements.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles and student needs.
