IAM Engineer (US)

IAM Engineer Experience: 2–7 years Location: New York City, NY; Dallas, TX; Washington, DC; Chicago, IL Salary: $90,000–$170,000 per year Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced IAM Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure Identity and Access Management solutions across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Okta, Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID), IAM, authentication, authorization, and access management. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain IAM solutions using Okta and Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID.Manage user identities, roles, groups, permissions, and access policies.Configure and support SSO, MFA, federation, and authentication protocols such as SAML and OAuth/OIDC.Automate identity lifecycle management, provisioning, and deprovisioning.Integrate enterprise applications with IAM platforms.Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, and access-related issues.Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege principles.Monitor IAM environments and investigate security or access anomalies.Collaborate with security, infrastructure, application, and compliance teams.Support IAM audits, security controls, documentation, and compliance requirements. Required Qualifications 2–7 years of experience in IAM, Identity Security, or Cybersecurity Engineering.Strong hands-on experience with Okta.Strong knowledge of Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID.Understanding of IAM concepts, identity lifecycle management, RBAC, SSO, and MFA.Experience with SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.Knowledge of Active Directory and enterprise authentication environments.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Experience working with security and IT infrastructure teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with IAM automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.Familiarity with privileged access management (PAM).Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles.Experience with cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.Relevant certifications such as Okta certifications, Microsoft identity certifications, Security+, or CISSP are a plus.
