IAM Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Role

D&H, a 100+ year old Employee-Owned technology distributor, is hiring an IAM Cybersecurity Architect to design and implement its Identity and Access Management (IAM) framework. This role is critical in safeguarding the company's assets, protecting user identities, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design a comprehensive IAM strategy.
• Develop IAM architecture and frameworks for user authentication, authorization, and identity provisioning.
• Design and implement access control policies, including role-based access control (RBAC) and fine-grained access controls.
• Configure and deploy Single Sign-On (SSO) and federated identity solutions.
• Evaluate and implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) mechanisms.
• Integrate IAM solutions into existing applications and infrastructure.
• Create documentation and conduct training sessions on IAM-related topics.
• Stay updated on IAM trends, technologies, and industry standards.
• Provide advanced architecture and engineering support for identity and compliance requirements.
• Drive planning and execution of identity management roadmaps and technology enhancements.
• Assess current applications and architecture for alignment with industry guidelines and best practices.
• Assist IT departments with design, implementation, and troubleshooting of IAM technologies.
• Maintain knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS) and security technologies.
• Oversee security controls, design new security technologies, and provide training to team members.
• Assist in maintaining PCI compliance, vulnerability management, and security awareness programs.
• Coordinate relations between business and IT staff and support process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or similar area, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity.
• Industry certifications (CEH, Security+, SANS, CISSP, OSCP, CCNA Security) preferred.
• Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or Perl preferred.

Skills

• Expertise in IAM technologies (IAM suites, SSO, MFA, identity federation, user provisioning).
• Strong understanding of security protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
• Knowledge of directory services (LDAP, Active Directory) and identity protocols (SCIM).
• Familiarity with cloud-based IAM solutions (AWS IAM, Azure AD).
• Solid grasp of compliance regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
• Experience with BeyondTrust preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
