IAD Cook Position

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare food for service (i.e. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
• Using approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Maintains safety standards while using knives and other food preparation equipment.
• Restocks and/or breaks down workstation at the conclusion of the shift.
• Aids in controlling product costs by ensuring the proper management of product waste.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains all assigned work areas, equipment and utensils to ensure sanitation standards are met.
• Speed, and efficiency are of the utmost importance. Ability to multi-task and organizational structure.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass pre-employment (post offer) background check.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook.
• Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage.
• An upbeat and friendly attitude.
• Open availability and flexible schedule for demanding hours.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Able to bend and kneel through shift; able to lift up to 25 pounds or more.

Pay Range

$21 per hour
