I & E Technician II

About the role

Vistra is seeking a skilled I&E Technician to join our team at a combined cycle power generation facility. This position is union-represented and offers competitive pay.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all plant I & E equipment
• Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance activities
• Analyze equipment performance and recommend corrective actions
• Assist and advise management and plant operators on instrumentation and electrical equipment
• Utilize maintenance management systems (Maximo, etc.)
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials and waste products
• Contribute to plant safety meetings and programs
• Participate in on-the-job training and safety improvement initiatives
• Perform lockout/tagout activities
• Conduct work authorization paperwork
• Research, procure, and order parts and materials
• Maintain good housekeeping

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years of trade or technical school with training in I&E systems
• Six years experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of I&E systems
• Completion of accredited courses in basic math, electricity, chemistry, and power plant physical sciences
• Completion of courses in print reading, communication skills, and technical troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• RI Crane Operators license
• RI Journeyman Electrician license within 5 years
• ISA Level I Certified Control System Specialist certification within 5 years

Skills

• Ability to perform technical troubleshooting
• Effective communication skills
• Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PI, time keeping, computer-based training)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and panel schedules
• Knowledge of server-based control systems

Pay

$48.62 per hour

Schedule

This position requires working 8 consecutive hours on a standard daily shift, with the potential for emergent and planned support. Emergent overtime may be required.
