I&E Technician, Eagle Ford

About the Role

The I&E Technician will install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and automation systems connected to ConocoPhillips’ Eagle Ford gas/oil production facilities. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of these systems, supporting our second-most prolific unconventional resource development. The position is located in Kenedy, TX, and requires exceptional teamwork, organizational, and communication skills.

Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within a 40-mile driving radius of Kenedy, TX. This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine calibrations, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electronic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment, including motor controls, process control equipment, flares, valves and positioners, emergency shutdown systems, uninterruptible power supplies, fire and gas detection systems, and radio networks.
• Maintain, install, and troubleshoot power systems of various voltages (12/24 VDC and 120/480VAC).
• Maintain accurate records of electrical and instrumentation equipment, repair history, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Complete work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Collaborate with I&E Foreman, Lead, Specialists, and techs, as well as artificial lift techs, mechanics, and operators to resolve issues.
• Read and interpret manuals, policies, standards, drawings, and schematics, including electrical, pneumatic, and P&IDs.
• Exercise stop work authority.
• Drive teamwork throughout the area of responsibility.
• Complete and maintain required safety/regulatory training (CBT).
• Participate in Respiratory Program requirements.
• Participate in on-call and callout requirements.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Current/valid driver’s license.
• 3 or more years of experience as an I&E Technician in the oil and gas industry.
• Currently reside or willing to relocate within a 40-mile driving radius of Kenedy, TX.
• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to:
  • Participate in the respiratory protection program.
  • Climb up to or exceeding 200 feet in height in a man lift basket.
  • Climb various ladders and stairs up to 50 feet in height to perform maintenance on equipment.
  • Work in a manlift at elevated heights ranging from 10’ to 130’.
  • Raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material daily on even and uneven terrain.
  • Work outside in harsh weather conditions.
  • Work alone a high percentage of the time.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work under air as needed.
  • Be on call.
  • Work unscheduled overtime.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree/Trade certificate or higher in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Technology, Production Technology, Process Technology, or a related field.
• Intermediate proficiency in wellhead control equipment.
• Intermediate proficiency in oil and gas operations.
• Intermediate proficiency in PCCU, Roclink, and Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word.
• Ability to self-start and work alone, as well as within a team setting.
• Ability to adjust quickly to unexpected conditions.
• Strong teammate with the ability to work safely and manage a diverse workload.
