I/E Technician

About the role

Support the design, engineering, customization, and commissioning of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) control systems and related systems software for natural gas processing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain GE PLC (programmable logic controller) systems.
• Troubleshoot computer and communication issues on equipment.
• Utilize knowledge of instrumentation (transmitters, control valves, meters, etc.).
• Monitor and recognize dangerous and/or emergency conditions within the process and perform procedures necessary to remove the condition or shutdown the process/facility to protect personnel, community, environment, and equipment.
• Recognize malfunction in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary to correct problems.
• Operate and perform activities in accordance with application regulations and procedures.
• Utilize proper lockout/tag out operation and safety procedures.
• Write repair work requests for routine and major maintenance that cannot be handled as part of normal operations within MAXIMO (maintenance reporting system).
• Read, understand, and redline wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Work under DOT, OQ, and PSM regulations.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering or closely related field.
• 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Special Skills or Other Requirements

• Experience with P&IDs, electric schematics, and technical manuals and data.
• Experience with the National Electric Code.
• Experience with 4160V electric systems and motor controls.
• Experience with Instrumentation and Automation.
