Responsibilities
- Understand electrical and instrumentation equipment associated with plant processing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair compressor panel control wiring and associated devices.
- Troubleshoot electrical motor starter panels and motor issues.
- Read electrical schematics and P&ID’s drawings.
- Work in extreme weather conditions.
- Maintain and work on different types of control valves and transmitters.
- Troubleshoot PLC’s and DCS systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems for processing plants and field boosters.
- Work on electrical systems ranging from 12vdc to 4160 vac.
- Use electrical meters and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Follow all company safety procedures and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Collaborate on related projects with different company groups.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Execute maintenance activities related to pipeline maintenance and operation.
- Strong work ethic with ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call-outs as needed.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in changing climate conditions and close quarters (kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, standing).
- Adhere to all Personal Prote Equipment (PPE) guidelines (e.g., eye protection, footwear, Nomex).
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability or knowledge to diagnose PLC problems.
- Understand and translate information from PLC code, schematic wiring, ladder, and P&ID process diagrams.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical control systems and maintain instrumentation systems.
- Self-starter who communicates daily with the I&E group.
- Ability to take call-outs on rotation and work weekends if needed.
- Associate’s degree in electrical/instrumentation or 3 years of experience as an I/E tech in the gas processing industry.
