About the role

Shermco Systems Integration is seeking an Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and electrical systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of industrial equipment. Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and understand P&IDs, loop drawings, installation details, layout drawings, and other construction-related documents.
• Complete assigned tasks in accordance with construction project specifications.
• Perform mechanical and electrical installation of control panels and instrumentation, including:
  • Rigid, EMT, PVC coated rigid conduit.
  • Service, feeders, and branch circuits.
  • Controls, fiber, and network cabling.
  • Stainless tubing and instrumentation.
• Install, service, and wire equipment such as MCCs, panelboards, control panels, and instrumentation.
• Install, calibrate, and commission pressure, flow, level, temperature, and analytical instruments.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to instrumentation, control valves, process controllers, PLC hardware, and control systems.
• Assist in repair, testing, and installation of control panels, PLCs, I/O modules, and communications equipment.
• Demonstrate Safety as a Personal Core Value and ensure compliance with company policies and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician license preferred but not required.
• Two-year Associate’s degree in Automation & Controls, Instrumentation, or a similar technical program highly preferred.
• 2+ years of industrial electrical power and controls field experience preferred.
• Ability to work safely and contribute to a safety-focused team.
• ISA CCST certification preferred.
• Willingness to learn, be hands-on, and work in the field alongside engineers and field technicians.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
• Exposure to and familiarity with field instruments, electronic test equipment, control valves, and control panels.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools, ladders, manlifts, etc.
• Flexibility to work out-of-town with regular overnight travel.
• Strong preference for individuals who demonstrate a personal commitment to Safety.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must pass a fit-for-duty physical exam when required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
• All offers are conditioned on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored visa.
• Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English.

Pay

USD $40.00 - USD $46.00 per hour.
