I&E Technician
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, calibrate and repair of electro-mechanical devices that measure flow, pressure, temperature, and levels
- Provide preventive, scheduled, and emergency I&E maintenance support to the facility
- Conduct instrumentation evaluations and troubleshoot for electrical, pneumatic, electronic as well as programmable logic control (PLC) systems
- Ensure to commission instrumentation effectively following with repair and replacement
- Conduct tests related to functional performance on instrumentation as needed by facility changes
- Work closely with plant operations to evaluate both routine and emergency instrument work
- Involved in evaluation of instrument performance to identify optimization and enhancement opportunities
- Navigate PLC and DCS Logic to support troubleshooting efforts
Education & Qualifications
- Active participation in continuous improvement activities
- Participates in problem-solving
- Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business
- Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members
- Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance
Experience
- 2-year degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field
- 5-7 years minimum field experience preferred
- Experience navigating a CMMS required
- Previous experience operating a forklift preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of safety practices, specifically LOTO, hot work and confined space entry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn and understand various manufacturing processes throughout the plant
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs (up to 8 stories)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment within a multi-functional, organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills
- Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive, physical work such as lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 25 pounds
- Ability and willingness to work a non-standard shift during outages. Also available for the occasional off duty call-out
