Job Duties And Responsibilities
Maintain, repair and/or replace the equipment required to operate a chemical manufacturing plant safely and efficiently 24 hours a day / 7 days a week meeting all safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
Instrumentation
- Understand and provide process instrumentation preventive maintenance procedures
- Fabrication and installation of instrument tubing
- Troubleshooting and calibration of Ph and conductivity transmitters
- Troubleshoot and repair process valves and actuators
- Read blueprints and use loop sheets to repair instrument loops
- Utilize DCS (Honeywell) control systems
Electrical
- Troubleshoot and the repair of electrical control circuits
- Maintain, repair or replace electric motors and motor starters
- Read and work from blueprints, schematics, P&ID's, etc...
- Determine motor condition by the use of a megger
- Install conduit and pull wire for electrical circuits safely
- Use electrical hand tools, power tools and testers to install or repair electrical equipment
- Work with production to troubleshoot problems and find solutions
General
- Communicate with plant personnel; report issues promptly and accurately
- Comply with all regulatory safety and all regulatory environmental requirements
- Insure compliance with all company policies, practices and lawful directives
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years’ work experience as I&E, maintenance electrician or instrument technician
- Relevant experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment required
- Honeywell, AB and E&H instrument experience a plus
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Proficient at initial set up, troubleshooting and repairing - Flow indicating equipment; Pressure transmitters; Ph and Conductivity transmitters
- Proficient reading, understanding and working with instrument Loop Drawings and establishing the specifications for instruments and electrical equipment
- Must be prompt, dependable and have a good attendance record
- May be required to work nights and/or weekends as job duties demand
- Participate in the Safety blood draw program if applicable
- Pass post-offer drug test, background check and other appropriate tests as required
Education Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational or technical degree preferred
- AIDT Training strongly preferred
