Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair chemical plant instrumentation and equipment including low and high voltages, valves, transmitters, controllers, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Investigate equipment failures to include determining root causes, and recommending and implementing appropriate solutions to eliminate or reduce failures
- Assist in the review, development and implementation of site preventative maintenance programs
- Participate in the planning and execution of chemical plant turnarounds
Qualifications
- Education: Associates degree or technical degree/certification from an accredited educational institution in Electrical or Instrumentation Technology, or a degree related to the core responsibilities of this position.
- Experience: 5+ years’ experience in an industrial chemical or manufacturing environment
- Skills: Strong background in control and instrumentation, including valves, transmitters, controllers, and DCS systems; experience in troubleshooting and repair of electronic and digital process control systems, related loop equipment, electric motors, high voltage equipment, as well as control circuitry; familiarity with methods of level, temperature, pressure, and flow measurement, as well as knowledge relating to pneumatic and electronic instrumentation; practical knowledge relating to electrical distribution, motors and motor control, conduit and wiring practices, lighting and grounding as well as familiarity with the National Electrical Code (particularly for hazardous locations); process analyzer experience helpful but not required
- Competencies: Embrace SAFETY FIRST every day and at all times; thorough understanding of and compliance with OSHA regulations; ability to read blueprints, specification sheets, loop diagrams and P&IDs; basic computer software and hardware experience including competency with MS Office; good math, science, and problem-solving skills; prior experience with SAP a plus; initiative and self-motivation; good interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team setting; clear and effective written and oral communication
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights of up to 100 ft.; duties require substantial bending, lifting, reaching, crouching; must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; must be able to work in confined spaces
- Other: Valid driver’s license

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
