I&E Design Project Manager - Construction

About the role
Turner & Townsend is seeking an I&E Design Project Manager to support our team on a large-scale battery manufacturing facility in Mississippi. This role reports to the assigned Project Manager(s) or Project Director and involves frequent interaction with the Owner/Client, consultants, design professionals, and contractors. You will assist in managing, coordinating, and administering civil scopes through all phases of design and construction, ensuring high-level client service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager(s) in managing and coordinating civil design and construction phases.
- Prepare and maintain project documents, including reports, schedules, invoices, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes/agendas, daily reports, change orders, inspections, closeout materials, and client presentations.
- Maintain project information in project management software.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with the project team as directed by the Project Manager(s).
- Communicate conceptual civil designs and maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
- Maintain Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for civil elements.
- Review and inform design RFPs.
- Manage external design consultants through the design and construction process.
- Communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
- Manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
- Develop innovative solutions to reduce costs without compromising quality or reliability.
- Oversee the commissioning of electrical scopes and coordinate with the project management team for project completion.
Requirements
- College degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred.
- Experience in project management on large-scale construction programs.
- Construction consultancy experience is strongly desirable.
- Experience in civil design.
- Prior commissioning experience.
- Manufacturing or mission-critical experience is strongly desirable.
Skills
- Solid working proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent presentation skills and effectiveness in a client-facing role.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Proven track record in delivering high-quality programs.
- Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
