About the role

Graphic Packaging International is a leading manufacturer of paperboard and paper-based packaging. This Instrument Electrician position plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the reliability of the mill's equipment.

Responsibilities

- Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, install, and ensure the reliability of all related facility equipment. - Conduct electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair, conduit and wire installation, lighting repair, PLC troubleshooting and repair, drive troubleshooting and repair, instrumentation and control valve calibration, and HVAC work. - Possess experience in electrical and pneumatic process controls, including transmitters, control valves, DCS equipment, programmable logic controllers, recorders, three-phase motors and controls, AC and DC drives, and computer literacy in control systems and troubleshooting. - Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and policies.

Skills

- Electrical experience. - High-voltage and power distribution. - AC and DC motors and drives. - Control systems experience: DCS, PLCs, PCs, and analytical equipment. - Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, calibration, and use of test equipment. - Control valve repair experience. - Understanding of P&ID’s, instrument loops, and electrical schematics. - Welding skills. - Ability to work in a team environment.

Schedule Demands

- General schedule is 8 hours, but willingness to work alternate schedules (early mornings, nights, weekends) is required. - Must be able to work all shifts and overtime. - Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and moving throughout the facility for extended periods.

Physical Demands

- Frequent lifting up to 20 lbs. - Reading computer screens or other electronic devices. - Using various office, hand tools, or electrical equipment. - Required to wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection when in the manufacturing area. - Exposure to airborne particles, heat, and humidity. - Noise levels can vary from quiet to noisy manufacturing environments. - Occasionally ascending or descending ladders.

Education / Knowledge

- High school graduate or GED equivalent. - Electrical applicants must have completed a 4-year electrical apprenticeship or helper program and obtained a Journeyman Electricians License. - Instrument applicants must have an industrial technology degree, certificate from an accredited college or trade school, or ISA CCST Certificate.
