Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute engineering work requiring independent judgment, evaluation, and adaptation of established engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Develop solutions to complex engineering challenges and provide technical leadership on assigned projects.
- Lead the preparation of instrumentation engineering and design deliverables, including:
- Instrument Indexes
- Instrument Data Sheets
- Control System Data Sheets
- Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) documentation
- I/O Lists
- Process Control Narratives
- Design and support Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.
- Prepare technical specifications, engineering studies, cost estimates, and proposal evaluations.
- Review and recommend control system components and equipment for procurement.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and technicians as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies and advancements in instrumentation and controls engineering.
- Support project execution activities in both office and field environments.
- Cook up coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and project stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Deliver quality work products while managing multiple priorities and project deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
- 6-10+ years of Instrumentation & Controls engineering experience.
- Strong background in instrumentation systems and industrial control systems.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and control platforms such as: ABB, Emerson Ovation, Siemens T3000, Mark VIe, MicroNet.
- Knowledge of control systems associated with gas boilers and turbine operations.
- Proficiency with engineering and design software including: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD 2D and/or 3D CAD platforms, Bluebeam Revit, Navisworks.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and documentation skills.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Commitment to professionalism, ethics, confidentiality, and quality.
- Willingness to travel and work in both office and field settings as project needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Previous experience supporting nuclear power generation projects.
- Experience leading engineering teams or mentoring junior engineers.
