I-2669 - Hilcorp Geology Intern

About the role

Hilcorp offers Geoscience office internships to students based upon previous experience and current coursework. Interns will work in the corporate office in Houston.

Responsibilities

• Work with an asset team, typically paired with an engineering intern.
• Conduct a reservoir study, including analyzing and correlating well logs.
• Complete structure and net‑pay maps.
• Quantify oil and gas reserves of the project area to identify economically viable investment opportunities.
• Evaluate project economics and make recommendations for recompletions, workovers, and drilling new wells.
• Present findings throughout the summer to management for project approvals and deliver a final presentation at the end of the summer.
• Adhere to the company’s values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
• Support the company vision and mission.
• Follow established work schedule, attendance standards, and be punctual to work and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Full summer availability.
• Interest in pursuing a career in the oil & gas industry.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Education Requirements

• Students who have earned a B.S. in Geology or Geophysics and are applying to graduate school.
• M.S. students with more than one year remaining in their program.
