Job Summary
As the Hyperbaric Technician, under the general supervision of the Hyperbaric Physician and the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, you will assume responsibility for the safe and effective operation of the compression chamber system and supporting components. All therapeutic and diagnostic modalities will be ordered by the Hyperbaric Physician.
What you will do
- Performs HBO treatment per physician order.
- Affords assistance in evaluating patient outcomes with case manager and the hyperbaric physician and adjusting treatment as necessary.
- Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long range plan, mission, vision, and values of the hospital.
- Promotes a supportive environment that encourages teamwork.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree.
- Specific training and/or experience in compression chamber operations, including demonstrated knowledge of decompression tables, strongly desired.
- One year of experience in healthcare.
- Experience in wound care and/or hyperbaric medicine preferred.
- Current licensure, certification or training is required in one of the following qualifying vocations:
- (LPN/LVN) Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse
- (EMT) Emergency Medical Technician
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- (CHT) Certified Hyperbaric Technologist
- (NBRC-CRT) Certified Respiratory Therapist, or (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
