About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Technician (will train) with EMT certification (required) to provide Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to referred patients. This technician conducts initial and ongoing age-specific assessments, provides therapy, and operates hyperbaric chambers. The ideal candidate delivers outstanding customer service to patients, families, referring physicians, and coworkers. Ongoing training will equip you with the tools to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all patients referred for treatment.
- Participate in the department’s quality improvement plan and assist in collecting data for Quality Assurance & Education.
- Document all care provided accurately and completely according to hospital and department policy.
- Provide therapy and hyperbaric chamber operations, including maintenance and cleaning.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and intervene appropriately.
- Enter all patient treatment notes into RestorixHealth’s EMR system.
- Comply with HIPAA Privacy and Confidentiality Policy and Procedures.
- Adhere to all Patient Safety Initiatives and Infection Control Procedures as outlined in the hospital’s safety manual.
- Use hospital resources, supplies, and equipment appropriately.
- Travel to other local centers for coverage, training, or other requirements as needed.
Requirements
- Valid and current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-CC, EMT-P), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) certification in the state of employment. Other advanced medical certifications will be considered.
- Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) training/certification preferred.
- Prior experience with wound care patients preferred (will train).
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Prior experience with an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system preferred.
- Must be physically able to perform CPR.
