About the role

The hygiene monitor is responsible for providing a clean, sanitary, comfortable, orderly, and satisfying environment for clients, staff, volunteers, and the public who use the day/resource center. The hygiene monitor promotes sanitary conditions to help prevent the spread of infection at the facility while guests are using the showers and laundry services and works with clients to meet their basic needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning, and wiping of equipment and furnishings.
  • Sweep and wet mop floors in hallways, bathrooms, and shower area.
  • Clean basins, toilets, mirrors, and showers regularly.
  • Take guest laundry; wash and dry guest laundry and return before the end of the day.
  • Label all guest items.
  • Sign guests up for laundry service and shower service.
  • Maintain order with guests who are waiting for services.
  • Aid guests who request donations of toiletry items.
  • Must handle various cleaning solutions, chemicals, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate forms are completed for laundry and showers.
  • Work with volunteers on ordering supplies and volunteering in laundry and showers.
  • Work with other members of the staff and volunteers while on shift.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be required which are commensurate with the role.

Qualifications

  • The ideal Hygiene Monitor will be a professional with at least one year of experience and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
  • Additionally, candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • They should have a strong work ethic and pay attention to detail.
  • They should embody the values of the organization, including accountability, responsibility, and respect for others.
  • They should be able to take direction and be flexible.
  • They should have good oral communication skills and excel in a team environment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Heavy tasks may require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Physical effort includes frequent walking, stooping, bending, reaching, standing, crawling, climbing, kneeling, and sitting for long periods of time. At times may be required to use respiratory filtration and personal protection devices. Exposure to cleaning agents and chemicals.

Work Schedule

In person from 3000 Springer Blvd, Little Rock, AR. Monday Friday 7:00 am 2:30 pm CST.
