Hydrostatic Tester position with comprehensive on-the-job training and career-growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Hydrostatically test tanks by plugging openings and filling each tank with water and pressure.
- Visually inspect each tank for leaks and mark the shell to identify leaks.
- Operate hydro test and pneumatic testing equipment safely and properly.
- Inspect tank fittings and brackets for proper welds.
- Hand stamp all tested tanks with assigned letter.
- Record required tank information on hydro data sheet using the weld inspection report.
- Chip slag and welding from around fittings and brackets while the tank is being filled with water.
- Notify Supervisor when plastic plugs, O-rings, and other materials reach re-ordering points.
- Maintain necessary welding certification to repair all manufactured products.
- Attach data plates as necessary.
- Inspect hydro testing equipment for proper operation before use.
- Maintain all appropriate paperwork relating to testing practices.
- Perform housekeeping and other related duties.
- Operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts for material handling when necessary; complete any required training/safety programs.
Requirements
- Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year of working experience in an industrial-based environment.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
- Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations.
- Reading, writing, and simple math skills.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- 4-1 short circuit transfer GMAW, 1G Minimum (if applicable).
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification to operate all hydro stations.
- Certification to operate large diameter test station in Building 2.
- Certification for passivation of Stainless-Steel vessels.
- Training on all pneumatic and hydro testing equipment.
- Familiarity with various types of fillets, groove, and multi-use weld gauges.
