RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all safety checks at the start and throughout the shift on cranes and tools and document as necessary.
- Hydrostatically test tanks by plugging openings and filling them with water or air pressure.
- Operate hydro test and pneumatic testing equipment safely.
- Visually inspect tank fittings and brackets for proper welds and record information on a hydro data sheet.
- Chip slag and welding from around fittings and brackets when filling the tank.
- Notify foreman or lead when materials are at the reorder point.
- Maintain testing equipment and monitor its condition daily.
- Keep all appropriate paperwork related to testing practices.
- Ensure pressure is removed before removing plugs or pressure couplings from vessels.
- Monitor gauges for loss of pressure indicative of leaks and examine objects for escaping air to detect leaks.
- Mark the source of leaks for subsequent repair.
- Be attentive to detail in all job tasks and ensure quality and workmanship in each product manufactured.
- Operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts as needed.
- Successfully complete any training, safety programs relating to the operation of the equipment.
- Able to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and finishing specifications.
- Perform housekeeping and other assigned duties.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE
- Training on all pneumatic and hydro testing equipment.
- Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
- Pneumatic tools provided by the company.
- Hand tools required for completion of job tasks.
- Basic understanding of computers, reading, writing, and simple math skills.

- High school diploma or GED with one year of trades training and at least one year of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as bills of material, blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Able to communicate effectively one-on-one with other employees of the organization.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
- Prior work record indicating dependability and conscientiousness.
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.

- Occasionally working in a wet environment
- Occasional work activity is performed outdoors.
