Hydromet Leach Operator I

About the role

Performs duties related to the leaching process and leach field construction.

Performs pipe fusions using fusing machine.

Responsible for having knowledge of plant nomenclature to include sumps, pumps, and leaching areas.

Responsible for having knowledge of various evaporative spray heads and drip systems and may assist with and perform the proper placement of these on leach fields.

Performs loading, delivering, and unloading pipe and materials.

Operates mobile equipment such as loaders, forklifts, boom trucks, and light duty vehicles and UTV (Utility terrain vehicle).

Performs area housekeeping.

Performs maintenance activities.

Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Six (6) months of experience in the trade.
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude.
• The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required.
• This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

Preferred

• High School diploma or GED.
• Pipe Fusion Machine experience: 4", 4"-12", 6"-18", 8"-24", and 12"-36" machines.
• Proficient with hand tools.
• Experience in in fusing 3" to 30" pipe.
• Experience Operating backhoes, forklifts, loaders, dozers, and excavators.
• Able to work outside during scheduled shift in all weather conditions.
• Experience with equipment monitoring and data entry via computer.
• Able to work a shift of physical nature; lifting, pulling, bending, and dragging.

• Communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
• Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
• This is a Safety sensitive role.
• Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
• Occasionally may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work day.
• May be required to work a non-standard schedule which may include shift work (other than day shift) in a 24/7/365 operation.
• Occasionally may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work day.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

• The estimated pay range for this role is currently $23.00 - $31.00/hour.
