About the role
You will join our Water Infrastructure & Climate Adaptation Team, working with clients to deliver a wide range of water-related projects—from preliminary studies through design and construction. You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, resiliency planners, and our global team of experienced professionals to develop solutions that help urban and rural communities address the impacts of climate change and sustainable water management.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering calculations, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for water resources projects such as stormwater management, site design, green infrastructure, watershed & floodplain studies, streambank stabilization, and stormwater/combined sewer systems.
- Conduct and/or coordinate field investigations, including hydrology and hydraulic evaluations and river geomorphological investigations.
- Analyze and interpret survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs, analytical data, geologic data, and other information to plan and design projects.
- Prepare and present reports or analyses, such as design calculations, field data results, conclusions, and cost estimates to project teams, managers, owners, or external clients.
- Communicate directly with external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, subcontractors, contractors, regulators).
- Collaborate with team members to progress work products and support the preparation of proposals, fee estimates, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements.
- Delegate basic tasks to other team members and participate in the quality review of work products developed by others.
- Actively contribute to creating a safety culture in the office and at jobsites.
Requirements
- BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related science.
- 3+ years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
Skills
- Experience with SWMM and/or InfoWorks ICM.
- Proficiency in USACE HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- PE License or ability to obtain one within 1–3 years.
- Ability to work remotely and collaboratively with project teams.
- Strong time management, proactive communication, and adaptability to diverse projects.
Preferred skills:
- Experience with MIKE + / MIKE Zero.
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) software packages.
