Hydraulic Mechanic

Reports to Foreman. Work location: Geneva, IL. Full-time, 1st shift.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain heavy duty hydraulic systems
• Identify hydraulic components and their capabilities
• Read and understand schematics
• Perform electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, repairing and rebuilding equipment
• Work with production personnel to correctly identify repair requirements
• Understand and utilize blueprints, operator manuals and/or part catalogs to fulfill preventative and corrective maintenance procedures
• Perform work on motors, compressors, conveyors, boilers, and various hydraulic presses ranging from 5-600 tons
• Be available for emergency breakdowns (on-call) and/or snow removal during off work hours, as needed

Requirements

• HS diploma and/or vocational school training
• Minimum of 5 years hydraulic experience
• Excellent working knowledge of hydraulic systems and components including troubleshooting and retro-fitting or designing hydraulic systems
• Solid understanding of electrical (480V), mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and piping systems
• Welding and torch cutting abilities
• Ability to machine and fabricate parts
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for injection molding, hydraulic presses and automated assembly equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work in a safety conscious manner; understanding safety guidelines and protocols
• Must have valid driver’s license
