Hydration Aide - Fulltime

Full-time, as-needed position.

Pay

$17.01–$21.70 per hour based on experience and qualifications. Eligible for shift differentials:

• Weekday nights (Monday–Thursday, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am): +$3.00 per hour
• Weekend days (Saturday–Sunday, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm): +$3.50 per hour
• Weekend nights (Friday–Sunday, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am): +$5.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Pass ice and fresh water on shift, as assigned.
• Pass, offer, and encourage residents to consume fluids and snacks between meals.
• Assist dependent residents (not high-risk for choking) with consuming fluids and foods offered.
• Record percentage of diet consumed at mealtime.
• Report to assigned nursing supervisor any residents who refuse meals or show changes in fluid or food intake.
• Assist with group restorative exercise programs.
• Report chewing or swallowing difficulties to the assigned nursing supervisor.
• Assist with other nursing duties at non-meal and snack times, such as stocking, making beds, and tidying rooms.
• Document administration of fluids to residents at risk of dehydration.
• Assist residents to appointments and laboratory meetings as directed by the nursing supervisor.
• Encourage resident participation in daily activities.
• Perform other functions as required to fulfill the expectations of the Hydration Aide role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior work experience in a healthcare setting or with the elderly population is desired.
