About the role

The Hydrant Technician position involves inspecting, maintaining, and testing fire hydrants to ensure they are operational and ready for use in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain fire hydrants to ensure proper functioning.
  • Test hydrants to verify they are operational under various conditions.
  • Document findings and make recommendations for maintenance or repairs.
  • Communicate with other departments regarding hydrant issues and solutions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience with fire suppression systems preferred.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations and codes.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Good communication skills.

Skills

  • Proficient in using hand tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
