About the role
The Hydrant Technician position involves inspecting, maintaining, and testing fire hydrants to ensure they are operational and ready for use in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain fire hydrants to ensure proper functioning.
- Test hydrants to verify they are operational under various conditions.
- Document findings and make recommendations for maintenance or repairs.
- Communicate with other departments regarding hydrant issues and solutions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with fire suppression systems preferred.
- Physical ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and codes.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
- Good communication skills.
