Hyam Plutzik Creative Writing Residency
About the Residency
The Family of Hyam Plutzik (Trinity ’32) offers an annual residency in South Beach at the Betsy Writers Room to a graduating senior or first-year graduate student with outstanding talent in the literary arts. The award is presented in May as part of the graduation program.
The residency includes:
- A $500 travel stipend
- Six days of lodging
- A $50 per diem
During the residency, the recipient will participate in an Arts Salon to share their work with the community, with planning done in close partnership with the visiting artist. The residency is scheduled at a mutually convenient time directly with the Betsy Writer’s Room.
About The Writer’s Room at The Betsy
The Writer’s Room at The Betsy provides a tranquil and inspiring space for writers and creative artists to focus on their work. The room is available to visiting artists and writers across disciplines, with a special emphasis on poets during final-stage projects.
